On August 8, 2022, the FDIC announced that the former Consumer Response Center and the Deposit Insurance Section have been consolidated and renamed to the National Center for Consumer and Depositor Assistance (NCDA). This change affects the Fair Housing Rule and the Consumer Protection in Sales of Insurance Rule. The FDIC notes that this correction does not change any FDIC requirements affecting its supervised institutions.
Financial institutions should replace any mention of the outdated “Consumer Response Center” and “Deposit Insurance Section” with the current “National Center for Consumer and Depositor Assistance” as well as to correct web addresses. This includes Equal Housing Lender Posters, any posting of the ECOA notice including adverse action notices, and any listing of the Customer Grievance Process under the Consumer Protection in Sales of Insurance rule.
